Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary - Bird watchers Paradise

This was our long-planned trip and we finally made it!

Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary is situated on the bank of river Kaveri/Cauvery in Mandya district near Mysuru, Karnataka. This is largest bird sanctuary in the state and is bird watchers paradise.

We left home at 6:15 in the morning and reached at 9 am including 15 min. break for breakfast.

A beautiful golden sun peeking through the car window and shining on us. We remember the lovely nursery Barney rhymes heard a long time back.

"Oh Mr. Sun. Sun. Mr. golden sun. Please shine down on me."

For breakfast, one can have at Kamat Upahar Hotel (Veg.) on the right hand side of the highway. This is about 70 km from Bengaluru.

This Bird Sanctuary park is neatly maintained. As we were early to the place, not many people were around, we did not have to wait in queue for the boat ride. There are different types of Boat rides.
